Back home to strangely warm (and welcome!) weather in Virginia.
Instead of a movie or a restaurant meal, the man and I opted for an afternoon date at the park, where we found four letterboxes, including the two that eluded us on the winter solstice. Yeah, that had been bugging us… but today-success!
It was a treat to see friends on the 7th night of Hanukkah and watch 11-year old Emma light her handmade hanukiah.
A couple of firsts: Sam was tall enough to hang her stocking by herself and she read aloud Clement Moore’s poem “The Night Before Christmas” before bed. Soon she won’t need us at all anymore. It goes by so fast. Happy Christmas to All!
The Winter Solstice dawned sunny and mild here today so we headed to Ridley Creek Park in the middle of the day to look for a letterbox. We didn’t find it. Not even with the help of a big stick and little girl eagle eyes.
