Sam, Susie and Timmy completed RevQuest– a spy game which had us hunting for clues and deciphering encoded messages in our mission to secure the support of the French in the war for independence. Here, the kids met a contact outside of the Magazine.
The kids were instructed to strike any pose they wanted when they each came to the podium at the end of the mid-season Showcase at the Little Gym. To my astonishment, Sam’s pose was… smiling! 🙂
17 degrees Fahrenheit felt wonderful this evening after the 6 degree morning we had.
Sam was pretty disappointed.
While we were away last week, the last lone jalapeño plant, which has been languishing indoors in a pot, ripened to red. We ate it this evening, enjoying the last bit of 2013’s bounty. Happy New Year!
The motorcycle died while AC was en route to work this morning, so Sam and I mounted a rescue mission. AC was fine. It seems to be a problem with the battery (again). He stashed the bike in a parking lot next to some classic cars, whose white walls are as wide as my arm.

Making paper bûches de Noël… I know, they should be edible and chocolate, but after all the cookie baking, I just didn’t have it in me.
We were baking maniacs today: hazelnut sandwich cookies, chocolate pinwheels and peppermint stick cookies.
Not really a rink. Just a rec center gym. But still, free roller skating on a Friday night is pretty cool.
