Also in Butter Yellow.
This is two coats of “Cranapple.” Hopefully one more coat will finish it. And here’s the view of living room, with the poppy glowing dining room in the rear. I took this shot from the front door:
One of our new neighbors (a graphic artist) says that the color orange stimulates both appetite and conversation. But also that restaurants use it because it makes people eat quickly. Think we’re going to be bolting down our food now.
Grand-mère and Sam survey the hallway now painted in “Butter Yellow.” Though I’d say that up close it’s more like crème anglaise.
My dad scoffs at the use of painter’s tape–says all you need is a “steady hand.” No steady hands in this household. We are putting the blue tape maker’s kids through college!
Sam found a conveniently located couch upon which to record her findings, one of which was to report that there’s a couch in our neighbor’s front yard
to visit the dentist today. We know how to show ourselves a good time.

Sam poses with the Hoovers, just before they vacated the house that they lived in for 40 years. Lovely people. They left Sam a surprise gift in what will be her room. And now the house is all ours! (Oh my. Do we have a lot of work to do.)
