Sunday, June 30th, 2013

Sam and I will attempt to keep our friends’ five chickens (including one broody hen) alive and well for the next few days while they are out of town. Day one = a success! Plus we got two eggs.

25 June 2013 The Babies Go Shopping

Tuesday, June 25th, 2013

After the spray park Sam and Susie were more than happy to be dragged to Trader Joe’s for some food shopping because they had their doll babies in the car and TJ’s has those kid-sized shopping carts and they got to be like REAL PARENTS shopping with their kids. They spent most of the trip […]

At our neighborhood pool, kids are banded according to height. Below 48 inches is blue. Above 48 inches is yellow. Sam is SO close to 48 inches tall but so far this summer it’s been one blue band after another. Until today when the lifeguard brought out the measuring stick and decided that Sam was […]

13 June 2013 Welcome Home to the Twins

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

Our neighbors just (as in last week) had twins and we’ve been helping out a little at their house. Unfortunately the babies haven’t been able to come home yet, but we learned today that they are probably coming home tomorrow. Sam and Susie are very excited about this and made signs to welcome them to […]

The Indigo Girls with Joan Baez at Charlottesville’s downtown Pavilion. Baez still has an amazing voice even at age 72 (!) and the Indigo Girls took me back to my college years with one strum of the guitar. Actually the amusing thing–that Baez teased them about–was how MANY guitars the Indigos use in one concert. […]
