Emma Bear got the works today: fried egg, bacon, a vitamin, AND she got to wear some fancy new duds. Note the little rag doll tucked inside her shirt? Sam’s bears have their own lovies.

Sam takes “The Plunge” at the snow tubing park at Wintergreen.
Skit in French Club today. Sam was playing the part of a dragon who helps a student pick up pencils, erasers (“gomme”) and books that have fallen out of his backpack. She looks dragon-like, doesn’t she?
I like that Sam’s growing independence includes making pancakes.
Isabella and her friends, both animate and inanimate, celebrated her first birthday on this unbelievably beautiful spring-like day. How did Sam know that it was her doll’s birthday today? Because Cabbage Patch Dolls come with birth certificates apparently!
I prefer to think of them as miniature Yorkshire puddings.
At history club today.
In snow on my walk up to the market today. It’s hard to be a pedestrian in this town sometimes.
Bobsledding team Sam and Susie prepare to take the big hill at the park. We probably have close to a foot of snow now!
Yep, snowstorm’s coming.
Someday Sam could tell her children that she had to walk almost a mile uphill in the freezing cold to go to the dentist. Hopefully she’ll also remember the balloons.
